Awkwafina An American performer and actress, started by releasing a humorous rap track dealing with issues related to sexuality and race. The career of the singer and actress grew to Hollywood following the release of several rap songs. Nora Lum was born to Chinese Koreans living from Forest Hills Queens. Her first encounter with music was from the trumpet. Following her Jazz and classical training her interest in hip-hop grew as a teen. While in college, she focused on her studies. She took up a degree in women's studies and journalism. For a brief period of time in Beijing, Mandarin language classes were also offered. After graduating, she began to focus on music. In 2012 her track My Vag a response to Mickey Avalon's My Dick found viral success across the Internet and was later released on her debut LP Yellow Ranger in 2014.
