She was born to a psychologist and an ice cream parlor proprietor, McCormack hails from a family with no direct links to the world of entertainment. McCormack attended Wardlaw-Hartridge School and, following the divorce of her parents in 1990, she went to Trinity College in Hartford in Connecticut.
