Garena has launched the Garena Professional League (GPL) in the month of May 2012, a 6 month professional gaming league that includes hundreds of online games. The initial season of GPL includes comprised of a League of Legends competition which includes six professional teams. They are comprised of some of the most talented players in their respective nations. GPL games are recorded and streamed online with commentary, and are accessible to viewers to see on the GPL official website. In January 2013, Garena revealed the second season of the Garena Premier League, which was scheduled to begin on the 4th of January 2013. Garena Premier League, 2013 will include two teams from Taiwan & Vietnam. The current total of eight teams is now raised to nine. These teams include AHQ, Saigon Fantastic Five, Bangkok Titans, Kuala Lumpur Hunters, Manila Eagles, Saigon Jokers, Taipei Assassins and Singapore Sentinels. It is the Garena E-Sports Stadium, an esports facility, was opened in November of 2014 in the Neihu District of Taipei. The facility was constructed in order to host the League of Legends Masters Series that is the most elite Taiwan, Hong Kong, as well as the Macau LoL league that was an offshoot of the GPL. In January 2015, Garena launched Iron Solari League which is a women's League of Legends tournament in the Philippines. This is a bi-monthly event which is held in the second halves of each month. The event is meant to promote participation among people who aren't represented, and is for anyone who self-identifies as a female. Apart from competitive events, Garena also organizes events designed to allow members for offline networking and meeting. Garena is the host of Garena Festivals in Singapore, Malaysia and other nations.
